How ‘live and let live’ becomes ‘die, foul oppressor!’

If you don’t like usurious loans, don’t make one.

If you don’t like abortion, don’t have one.

If you don’t like gay marriage, marry someone of the opposite sex.

If you don’t like divorce, stay married.

If you don’t like contraception, don’t use it.

If you don’t like the comprehensively liberal choices on the ballot, you are equally free to support your own candidate.

If you don’t like liberal democracy, move to a monarchy.

If you don’t like slutty women, find a nice chaste girl.

If you don’t like peter pan manboys, Eat Pray Love and “marry” a hunky millionaire handyman. Or get cats.

If you don’t like poverty, give to the poor yourself but keep your hands out of my pockets.

If you don’t like exploiting labor, pay your employees a good wage.

If you don’t like genocide by immigration, live in a better neighborhood with the other racists.

If you don’t like public school indoctrination, homeschool.

If you don’t like comprehensive moral permissiveness all the way from the center to the peripheries, well, you are destined for Hell you self-absorbed rule-obsessed promethean neopelagian.

    made me laugh

Seems like good advice to me.

If you don’t like shadenfreude …

  • If you don’t like modern Papal praxis, declare your own self a P…wait, no.

    Nevermind

If you don’t like shadenfreude …

I think it helps to enjoy shadenfreude on a few of these.

    That is awesome.

    Or Tourettes.

  • Mike T says:

    Cane,

    That reminds me

    [Moderate bad language]

  • Zippy says:

It may be mildly of interest to some of the Catholics in the combox to note that when I string together some of the Pope’s words, the Protestants in the combox – who are presumably unaware that they are the Pope’s words – immediately think of Tourette Syndrome.

  • Cane Caldo says:

Whoa. Is there speculation that Pope Francis is so stricken?

  • Cane Caldo says:

I presumed it was something written specifically about you, Zippy, at Mark Shea’s or similar. So I didn’t actually think someone had Tourette’s.

  • Zippy says:

    Cane:

I took your Tourette reference as humorous, not serious. But that seems to be Pope Francis’ ecumenical method, or one of his methods: appeal to ‘the peripheries’ by insulting the faithful.

  • Dear ZIPPY, It is worse than that; the great helmsman has abandoned the wheel and sauntered over to the starboard side of the Barque where he is now (rhetorically) urinating on those of us clinging by our fingertips to the starboard side.

He is the onliest Pope ever who routinely insults the faithful. Along with being Our Pope and Our Cross, he is also a scold and an irksome irritant rather than being what the Catholic Encyclopedia says a Pope is – a symbol of stability and unity.

O, and his directives to the Bishops in Forence are as radical as they are novel in that he, and the rest df the Hierarchy, demand that the Church change while they refuse to actualise their duties to Teach, Rule, and Sanctify.

To anybody out there who has ever heard of a Bishop publicly committing truth by speaking/teaching about Sanctifying the sheep, ABS will bet any amount you request be bet on Sister Maureen Fiedler if ABS’s desired fight against Ronda Rousey at World Youth Day ever eventuates while y’all can bet on Ronda.

  • Zippy says:

    ABS:

He is the onliest Pope ever who routinely [publicly] insults the faithful.

I think that is actually true, as a simple historical fact. But with modern mass media who knows what the Borgias might have had to say.

  • Mike T says:

Better question is what cell phone videos of the Borgias would come out. I bet Kim Kardashian would have nothing on Lucrezia Borgia.

  • domzerchi says:

If you don’t like liberalism, emigrate to a country where you do not have the freedom to speak and write against it…I mean, where you do have the freedom to speak against it…I mean…
